PINOY Inc has chosen partners who can help us accomplish our mission in the Philippines. These groups were chosen based on their dedication to development of children, and their long standing record of success. PINOY Inc volunteers will work directly with these groups to ensure every dollar donated is making a difference.
Sitio Baloc School supports a community of families who live in the trash dump of San Pablo also referred to as the San Pablo City "Smokey Mountain". An elementary school was stood up with donations from the local citizens, including the land where the 5 makeshift classrooms were constructed on. 2 of the Grades share 1 classroom. The only assistance provided by the Philippine government is the teachers. Once the children graduate from 6th Grade, nearly 100% go back to the dump and take up a life with their families because they have no means to pay for transportation and lunch at the public High Schools.
PINOY Inc met with the school official in April and arranged for the graduating class of 24 students to attend High School. We pledged to provide funding for transportation and food; we will also send boxes of used clothing for the students. Local representatives from Pinoy Inc will continue to work with the Department of Education representative to monitor and insure the children attend school consistently and make the passing grades required to successfully graduate High School, after which we will take the same students into vocational and job placement programs.
When a student succeeds they are asked to donate their own time helping lift others in their community up. A successful educated adult child will want to help their own family have a better life.
The Mission To serve, protect and develop children in need of special protection and their families through a holistic approach and Christian care to improve their quality of life and well-being
In 1988 the Kanlungan sa ER-MA Ministry Inc. was established in response to the growing menace of abuse and exploitation of street children in Metro Manila. While “kanlungan” means sanctuary or refuge, ERMA stands for Ermita-Malate, former red light district of the capital
In Kanlungan, children are provided with the necessary care, love, protection, rehabilitation and education. Driven by unity, love, respect and the faith in God, Kanlungan helps improve the lives and opportunities of many less fortunate in the streets of Manila.
Residential Care & Training Center
Level – 1 Located at 2029 F. T. Benitez St., Malate, Manila. It serves as a receiving, assessment and processing center for newly admitted clients, provides shelter, child’s basic needs, psycho-social intervention and case management.
Level – 2 Located in Pacita Complex, San Pedro, Laguna, it offers long-term residential care for children who cannot be reunited with families yet for some reasons. Dedicated staff train the children in basic household, social and life skills. Training and support is organized through case management schemes whereby each child’s personal experience is taken into account.
The Residential Care and Training Program accommodates around 60 children in 2 centers – the girls and the boys’ home. The girls home shelters girls and boys ages 12 and below. The center can accommodate 40 children.
